@matriarchselfreliant Chrysler paid back $7.6 billion worth of high-interest bailout loans to the U.S. and Canadian governments, back in May 2011. The payback included the $5.9 billion the carmaker owed in loans to U.S. taxpayers and the $1.7 billion owed to the Canadians. Thw original loans were repaid in full, more than six years ahead of schedule, along with the payment of accrued interest and additional consideration.

Wow GM/Chrysler is back????
GREAT, NOW PAY BACK THE AMERICAN TAX PAYERS THE $25 BILLION OUR CORRUPT GOV GAVE THEM!! The Treasury would have to sell its GM stock at $53.98 to break even. As of today (Wednesday) it’s at $24.92. THIS is what happens when the government runs a company!!! Obama gave GM to the unions. The Unions gave themselves great contracts, screwed the stockholders, screwed the taxpayers, and gave us the VOLT. Nobody wants a VOLT. 4 more years of this, and we’re done… FOR GOOD!

February 11th, 2012 - 09:24
@theSicilianToe You think people that have been on social security for over a decade caused our economic mess?
February 11th, 2012 - 09:24
Jesus Christ…you rightwingers cant put politics aside for one sec can you? Yes….the auto industry in America is better than it was in 2009. was the bailout something to be proud of? no. But it needed to be done. just like the bank bailouts. Can you fools admit that we are better as a nation if the US auto industry does better? why so much hate? Because they are unionized? Because it happened under, Obama? or because you are willing to destroy and put down america for an election?
