defenders were sold in the us from 1994 to 1997 with the 3.6 V8 engine (incredible sound and performance) from the range rover.importation stopped due to lack of airbags. only a small group of 700 cars was brought but sold quickly, even though they were very expensive due to high import taxes, taxes were abusive with the defenders in order to protect the national product, the pussy wagon wrangler. since the us market didnt represent much to defender, solihull didnt care to modify anything.
defenders are one of the greenest cars. Their life span is mutch higher tan those so called ‘eco cars’ so from producing till scrapping it, they are really invirorment friendly. So it is indeed a load of bull
Someone stuck the front corner of my friends defender. New Bull bar needed for the defender. They had to have a new front bumper, bonnet, and had to have the block removed and the mountings replaced. Wouldn’t want to be hit by one.
Nope Defender isn’t sold in the US – something to do with crash testing, modern cars are made to deform on impact to protect pedestrians, Defenders dont deform, I once had a rear end shunt from a Golf Gti and all I had to do was reppaint the rear x-member – they needed a new front end
