this doesnt sound practical. in a crowded street, the driver will hear frequent beeps from the system which will distract him instead of warning him.

Do you hold the same concern for older cars equipped with airbags and ABS?

Or, simply update the system, and if nothing helps turn it off at a service point. Or turn it off yourself and go to get it checked. So many possibilities…
